Operating systems

For the longest time I was a windows only guy. I really enjoyed it but mainly because it is just simply the easiest for gaming. I could start any game I wanted without any problems. I never really tried a different operating system at that time and I just told my self I never would. But that all changed a few months ago. I was doing the campus 19 piscine when I used ubuntu for the first time. I immediatly loved working with the terminal and the simplicity of just running compilers. Also I use a lot of valgrind and gdb some tools that are either just not available on other OS or they have problems. After the piscine I bought myself a macbook. When I was little I always told myself I would never buy one because the gaming experience sucked but I have to say from a professional standpoint I find it one of the best decisions I made till this day. I love everything about it and macOS quickly turned into my main operating system. I still can't use some tools like gdb and valgrind perfectly but being able to easily run all the code I want and do some swift development I really enjoy.

MacOS still doesn't have everything I need but that's where ubuntu saves the day. I currently use ubuntu with a vm that I can easily swap between devices. Just plug in my ssd and we are good. This workflow is really nice in my eyes because even if I don't have my laptop with me I can use nearly any pc around me to help myself get a little work done. So the past few months I only used my windows desktop for some gaming like starfield and some casual battlefield. Do I think that windows sucks now? Well not really, every OS just has it's own benefits. Linux can something be quite glitchy but I haven't had any mayor problems with ubuntu as of now. For gaming macOS isn't great but it's improving and windows is not my favorite for any C programming. So the choice is really up to you which one you use but I really wanted to make a blog post about my search for the perfect operating system.
